Biocorrosion of ship hull
The paper is devoted to studying Kovdor vermiculite as substratum for hydroponics. The results of researches of physical and chemical properties of a mineral, their change during preparation vermiculite substrata and its use in plant growing have been considered.

Manufacture modernization as a key factor of production competitiveness increase
The paper considers categories of nowadays "competitive ability of goods", "competitive ability of enterprises", "competitive advantages", "innovations", their interaction and interdependence. It has been shown that competitive capability of enterprises is not determined by competitive ability of their goods but by their competitive advantages and ability to hold these advantages. The conclusion has been made that drastic competitive advantages are proved to be a result of organization and management innovations.

On the current state of shipbuilding
The paper analyses the current state of shipbuilding. The following questions have been considered: main trends of national shipbuilding policy and long-dated terms, problems of domestic shipbuilding and shiprepairing, engine building, experience of foreign engine building firms and companies. Some ways of solution of the current situation for the purpose of sustainable development of the country have been offered.
